An exploration in texture.
My name is Matt Bingham, I’ve been working with wood for 19 years.
Golden Ratio Forms was born out of my desire to get creative, to produce pieces of work that resonate with people on a deeper level than just some Ikea table or generic artwork to fill some space on a wall.
I want to capture movement and shape we see in life; I want people to feel inspired or relaxed as a result of living with my work,
My goal is to produce large and awe-inspiring carved wall hanging pieces, to have my work sought after and to be able to live freely as a result.
My biggest project so far has been a huge 10-seater table, a commission which really pushed what I thought you could achieve with Resin and colour.
The client required several samples made and settled on a distinct recipe of different pigments to suit the colour they desired. Once delivered and the final coat of oil was applied in place, it looked incredible.
Asides from a deep interest in the natural beauty of Sacred Geometry and its connection to all life on earth and the universe I enjoy riding bikes, fresh air, the sea, surfing, swimming and training for whatever life can throw at us.
